Start your engines!!

Seth is crawling! So he isnt graceful by any means, but he moves. We aren't ready for this! So much baby proofing needs to be done and sadly, it means I have to make sure my floors are spotless because it never fails.... if there is something on the floor, even the tiniest thing, Seth will find it. And of course, it will go straight into his mouth. He has also cut his 3rd tooth! The crawling and the 3rd tooth all in one day. Needless to say, it was an exhausting day for us all.

Today we start water babies at the aquatic center. It should be fun! I'll update afterwards. We are only a couple weeks away from closing on the two lots we are in escrow for. The projected date for the houses to be completed is in April. We aren't looking forward to trying to sell this house, but we have to do what we have to do.

Let see... Seth's newest foods to try:
Apples: loves them
Avocado: ha! yeah right. He hates them.
Bananas: YUM!

Next on the list is peaches... I think he will like these. He has liked everything so far with the exception of the avocados.

Ok, and a quick rant. Seth is so tall! Thats not the rant though. Like his daddy, pants are going to be hard to find! He is in 12month sized clothing for a couple weeks now (and he isnt quite 8months old) and the pants fit great lengthwise but with Seth's skinny waist they are so baggy at the top. Do they make baby belts? haha. I need to find the adjustable waisted kind of pants.

Airplanes!

We went to the Evergreen Aviation Museum on Labor day and had a blast! We saw lots of planes of all shapes and sizes. I don't think Seth was too interested in the planes, but he enjoyed just strolling around watching people etc. He got lots of compliments on how cute he is and how good he was being. We saw the Spruce Goose and watched a Cirque De Soleil 3D movie at the IMAX theater. Seth actually watched with 3D glasses on too!

Narrated by Seth

So today Mommy decided to try her hand at making my babyfood. So far I have liked everything I have tried that came from the store. I have had:

Rice cereal
Oatmeal
Carrots
Sweet Potatos
Peas
Green beans
and Pears

And I have never made a reaction the first time I tried these things. They were all yummy and I gobbled them all up.

BUT! I am not too sure about this home made baby food texture. It is interesting....

I am thinking this is gross....

Definitely gross and it does not belong in my mouth!!!

Dont worry, I really did eat it all... I gagged a couple times.... but in the end it ended up in my belly. I think I hurt Mommy's feelings though. I dont think it was her cooking, it is the texture of UNpureed food.

Aug has been busy!

We have been pretty busy this month. Seth went to his first wedding last week. He looked so handsome all dressed up. We have been hanging out at the park, swimming in his little pool, playing with his cousin, etc.

Seth has started doing more and more. He now rolls and rolls and rolls. When I leave him on the floor and walk away he is never where I left him. I have to be careful with what I leave laying around. He also has started clapping!

It is so much fun to watch him learn new things like that. His new favorite thing is drinking from a sippy cup. Sometimes he hardly gets anything to drink because he is laughing so much while doing it! He hasn't learned that tipping the cup up is the key, but he knows that milk comes from it.

We are still in the middle of purchasing some lots in Philomath and when all of that gets sorted out we will build and move to Philomath. We would only be blocks from Krystal and Tanner's parents.

It is bedtime for Seth- I can hear him fussing... so time to wrap up this short entry.

6 month photo shoot

Saturday we went down to get Seth's 6 month pictures taken. He didn't want to cooperate at all. No smiles for the camera. We tried everything to make him smile... and I am sure I looked totally silly too, but he was staring at us like we were crazy.

Peyton on the other hand was the cutest and smiled and smiled. We got a few shots of them together as well. This was the best one. Oh well. Cant win them all.

Excuse the bad scan. The pictures don't look like that in person.

6 months old today!!

Seth turned 6 months old today. And it wasn't a great day. He had his 6 month well child check yesterday and got 3 shots.... so today was a cranky, tired, feverish, cuddle day. Poor guy. Great way to ring in half a year of life!

He is sitting so well now and is finally starting to do baby push ups on a regular basis. Seth has started turning himself over in the crib while trying to fall asleep and it wakes him up and makes him mad. Silly boy.

We have been on a routine each week that seems to really work. Monday, he plays with his Auntie Krystal and cousin Peyton while mommy and daddy are at work. Tuesdays he plays with his Maama while we are at work. Wednesdays I take him to infant story time at the library, then to play day in the park, then we either run errands or go home and play just the two of us. Thursdays he gets to play with Auntie Krystal and cousin Peyton again. Fridays are our lazy day and we usually stay home and play. Saturdays and Sundays vary but usually include hanging out and church.

Saturday Seth is getting his 6 month pictures done, so I will scan and post them when I get them :)
